Diane Hooper

Executive Director

Born and raised in Haywood County, Diane joined the team at Sugar Creek in 2000 as the Administrative Assistant. During that time, she was able to expand her knowledge of the senior care industry and, more importantly, realize her love for the residents of Sugar Creek. In 2003, Diane became the Executive Director and made it her goal to build strong relationships with the residents and staff. Diane is dedicated to the individual care of each of her residents and hopes her passion for what she does is contagious to others.

Diane is also active within the community and has served as a board member for Brownsville/Haywood County Chamber for three years, along with serving as the President of the Brownsville Business Association. In 2008, she graduated from Haywood County Leadership and is now a member of Brownsville Rotary. Diane is also a 2015 recipient of the Paul Harris award.

Diane has been married to her husband, Terry, for 41 years, and they have two children and five grandchildren.

Jessie Carter, RN

Registered Nurse

While employed with us, Jessie attended nursing school and graduated in December 2015. As of January 2017, Jessie has expanded her role here at Sugar Creek and joined our nursing team as the registered nurse!

Born and raised in Brownsville, Tennessee, Jessie received her high school diploma in 2002. After high school, she pursued her business degree. She obtained her associate’s degree from Jackson State Community College in 2004 and then went on to get her Bachelor’s degree from Bethel University in 2009. She came to us in 2014 with two years of sales and marketing experience from a local manufacturing company and six years of management experience from a home health agency. While working in home health, Jessie realized she was sitting on the wrong side of the desk. She had always wanted to be a nurse but took a different route after high school. In 2012, she made the decision to pursue her nursing degree. Since graduating, she has gained a great deal of nursing knowledge with experience in hospital and dialysis. Jessie married her high school sweetheart in 2009 and continues to live in Brownsville, Tennessee with their child.

Tara Johnson, LPN

Clinical Director

Tara joined our Sugar Creek team in June 2014 as our full-time nurse. Born in Memphis, TN, Tara lived in Southaven, Mississippi, until she was the age of 13. She and her family then moved to Bells, Tennessee, where she completed her schooling and received her high school diploma in 2000.

Tara knew from the time she was eight years old that she wanted to be a nurse. So, after high school, she pursued her nursing degree and received her license in 2004. Tara is married to her high school sweetheart, has two children, and now lives in Brownsville, TN. Tara came to us with 10 years of nursing experience – eight of those years were employed at Humboldt General Hospital on the Medical/Surgical unit. While still employed by the hospital as a registry, she became the Assistant Director of Nursing for Humboldt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center which is a long-term care facility.

Since coming to Sugar Creek, she’s made some positive changes and the residents love her dearly. She has been a true asset to our team here at Sugar Creek Senior Living.
